Lab technician Barry Phillips was put forward to appear on Channel 4 hoarding documentary ‘Get Your House In Order’ due to his uncontrollable collecting habit.
Thisisstaffordshire.co.uk report that the 42-year-old was unwilling to let go of his 4,500 CDs and 5,000+ copies of the ‘Radio Times’ before seeing the hypnotherapist. Viewers of the show will be able to watch him undergoing hypnotherapy tonight and see for themselves if the treatment is successful in convincing him to let go of his items.
According to unrealitytv.co.uk, the show’s presenters initially have their work cut out in attempting to convince Mr Phillips in trying to take part in the trade, which is why they make the decision to find a hypnotherapist for him.
The popular show, in which presenters Nick Allen and Abigail Ahern help hoarders sell their goods and use the money to revamp their home, may help a lot of people realise the different mental problems which can be solved by hypnotherapy.
As well as hoarding issues, the treatment has been used to help cure many addictions and phobias, as well as some physical injuries.
